Card Counting Companion is a noteworthy open-source application developed in Flutter, designed to assist users in practicing card counting without the necessity of a physical deck. This free and ad-free app effectively simulates real decks of cards, allowing users to count and verify their counts at their convenience.

The app features a well-structured Settings menu, offering five specific options to enhance the user experience:

1. Decks - Allows users to adjust the number of decks in play via a prompt.
2. Reset - Reintroduces burned cards back into the deck in their original order, enabling users to reattempt counting the same deck if they lose track.
3. Shuffle - Randomizes the deck. By default, the app shuffles the deck upon completion of counting.
4. Place - Displays the current position within the deck.
5. Count - Presents the current tally, serving as a tool for users to verify their counting accuracy.

The fundamental principle of card counting is straightforward: it involves predicting whether the next card drawn will be high or low based on previously revealed cards. High cards are defined as 10, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace, while low cards include 2 through 6. Cards that do not influence the count are represented by 7, 8, and 9.

The counting process initiates at zero. A high card prompts a subtraction of one from the count, whereas a low card results in an addition of one. A high count indicates a substantial likelihood that the next card will be high. In an ideally balanced deck, the count will consistently return to zero.
